The number of incidents of people who lost in the mountains or the jungle.

They are supposed to explore and interact with nature should have a basic knowledge of the conditions or terrain that may be taken to expect the worst events that are likely to be faced, such as getting lost and not know the way back.

If you are a true adventurer, it would certainly not unfamiliar with the term survival that is an attempt to survive in the wild, including in the jungle (survival in the forest). Our packing-tips how to deal with the various possibilities that occur when in the forest must be noted by those who delight in the expedition in the forests.

You should be aware that the natural conditions it is difficult to predict, although you may have prepared a variety of your exit carefully and meticulously.

Survival tactics

Okay you have prepared a variety of fittings for exploring the woods, call it a compass, map location, the GPS or global positioning system, HT, stock enough food to medicine.

However, without knowing how to deal with emergency conditions, the things mentioned above it is only helpful. By having knowledge of survival in the forest that are reliable, then certainly you will always have moments when you are stuck in the woods, lost orientation, etc..

Most of the “theory” survival is the how the forager can recognize a variety of plants that can be eaten in the woods. Experts say that 10% different types of flowering plants in the world that are available in Indonesia. That means, in the woods we have around 25,000 species of flowering plants.

Not yet flowering plants, fungi, could be many times the amount. Well, of all types trees is there to eat, there are toxic and therefore should not be eaten, and there are advised to eat (especially in urgent condition).

Not Poisonous Plants

There are several keys to find out the existing plants in the forest or not safe for consumption. Plants that have leaves, fruits, and flowers or tubers usually eaten by wildlife, means to indicate that the plant is not poisonous. And that means safe for human consumption.

However, if you find a plant that has a smell that was pleasant, make you dizzy with the smell, and not the least touched by the forest animals, then you should avoid. Also should be wary of plants that make your skin itchy and sore.

Other plants that also have to avoid the plants that have a very thick sticky leaves, hairy, have a contrasting color or a striking, and a rough surface. Also wary if you come across plants kemaduh (Laportea stimuli) because the fur contained in the leaves makes the skin feel itchy and hot.

Bushes of begonia plants can you make as a savior in times of trouble because no longer have stock. Generally, leaf begonia has a heart shape is not symmetrical. Which can be consumed the leaf stalk, but when young was sour and slightly bitter.
